Use antique heart pine for its sheer beauty in your home

Large mature trees expand their roots outwards. They also start to develop heart wood that is at the center of the tree. Heart wood is dense, dark and does not participate in the life functions of the tree such as transfer of water and nutrients from soil to its branches. Heart wood is also much dryer and more stable compared to the outer rings. It also possesses a rich color not found in trees that are less mature. Heart pine is rich in color and dense. By 1900 virtually all virgin pine forests in the US had been cut for the Industrial Revolution and replaced with faster growing species.

Today, specialists in antique wood such as Wellborn + Wright are using the reclaimed heart pine from the factories and mills of the Industrial Revolution. They are converting this into beautiful antique heart pine flooring. They are also using this exotic antique wood in exposed beams besides paneling and wood furniture using the reclaimed wood.  Please Visit our website for more information : http://www.wellbornwright.com/heart-pine/
