The Use of Reclaimed Wood is the Step in the Right Direction

Reclaimed Wood
It is a fact that we as human beings are facing some of the most testing times in our history. One of the stiffest challenges that we are facing is environmental degradation. One of the major factors of this environmental degradation is the felling of a large number of. However, since the 1970’s, there has been an emergence of a new trend that is the best positive step in the right direction: the rise in popularity of the reclaimed wood across the globe.

Reclaimed wood is timber obtained from the long standing idle buildings such as the old barns, factories, and warehouses. This wood is highly desired by the architects and designers for its history, quality, and character. It is mainly used in the flooring, paneling, siding, cabinet lumber, and furniture. As far as flooring is concerned, the reclaimed wood is one of the most durable surfaces that can be used. Some species typically used are white oak, rock elm, ash, chestnut, and hickory. The wide plank flooring done using the reclaimed wood adds a touch of class and grandeur to any environment.
